Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Staff to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will help foster a nurturing community where residents feel valued and empowered. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Monitor vital signs and observe residents for changes in health or behavior, reporting findings to nursing staff or supervisors promptly Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, through personalized engagement and behavior management techniques Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines, ensuring safety and cleanliness in the kitchen area Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas Drive residents to appointments or community activities as needed, ensuring safety and adherence to transportation policies Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and senior care best practices Ability to perform first aid and CPR; certification preferred but not required initially Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring Strong caregiving skills with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members effectively Ability to operate EMR systems accurately while maintaining confidentiality of resident information Physical stamina to assist with mobility support and perform caregiving tasks safely Valid driver's license for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred Join us in creating a supportive environment where every individual receives the compassionate care they deserve! Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
