Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated HMK/Caregivers to join our team in the Aurora area. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about providing high-quality care and support to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The position involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being in various care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, memory care, and home & community care environments. Applicants should possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on residents' lives while maintaining professionalism and empathy. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document accordingly using EMR systems Monitor vital signs and observe changes in health status to report to healthcare professionals Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's care, employing behavior management strategies and memory care techniques Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents as needed Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks in resident rooms and common areas Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive social environment Drive residents to appointments or activities when required, ensuring safe transportation practices Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding resident needs Skills Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care techniques Ability to assist with ADLs and personal care with compassion and patience Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and medication administration protocols Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is a plus Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes Valid driver's license for transportation duties is desirable CPR/First aid certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected
