Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in assisted living, home health, and long-term care environments. As a Private Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by delivering attentive, respectful, and comprehensive care tailored to each individual's needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through compassionate caregiving and professional excellence. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and personal preferences while maintaining proper food safety standards. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry. Support clients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, or developmental disabilities through specialized care plans focused on memory care and behavioral management. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop or follow individualized care plans that promote health and well-being. Provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to foster a positive environment for residents or clients. Qualifications Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration. Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving approach; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are advantageous for community-based assignments.
