  • Part-time, Full-time Overview The Homemaker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in their homes or community settings.
This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and promoting overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide patient care and support for individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism. Prepare meals and assist with meal planning while considering dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain a clean and organized living space by performing household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and light housekeeping. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to appropriate healthcare professionals. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing care. Skills First aid and CPR certification is preferred to ensure safety during caregiving tasks. Experience in home health, hospice care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is highly valued. Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in clients' conditions promptly. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Knowledge of care plans and medication administration protocols is essential for effective client support. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare team members. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors or individuals with disabilities. Familiarity with memory care techniques and direct support practices will enhance client interactions. This role requires dedication to providing high-quality care while fostering independence and dignity for all clients served.
