Job Summary The Homemaker or Home Care Aide is a member of the health care team who works under supervision and performs tasks that allow the patient to return to, or remain in, the home. The Homemaker assists in keeping the family intact, assisting the patient to meet personal needs, and keeping the home clean, safe, and orderly. MJM Health Agency services patients in the following counties Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kankakee & Kane Qualifications The Homemaker must meet the following requirements: A physical examination by a physician with no restrictions related to job duties and no evidence of communicable disease Knowledge and skill equivalent to completion of four years of high school Experience as a homemaker, either in own home or through employment A basic knowledge of nursing care and first aid Knowledge of all areas of budgeting, housekeeping, nutrition, food preparation, and clothing care A 70% or better grade on the Homemaker/Housekeeper Skills Assessment The ability to demonstrate tact and patience and recognize client needs based on age and situation Job Duties Performs routine housekeeping and helping to establish household routines Teaches proper clothing care Instructs in budgeting; assists in preparation of shopping lists, and encourages good buying practices Plans and prepares meals and special diets as necessary Assists with non-medical personal care Observes the patient for general physical, emotional, and mental conditions and reports and changes to the Supervising Nurse Accompanies patients to doctor's office visits and other places as needed to conduct personal business Completes a written record of care given and monthly patient summaries Attends training classes and conferences Adheres to all agency policies Transport client to Dr appointment Hiring for the following coverage areas: Kankakee, IL and surrounding area within 15miles

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A MINIMUM OF 20 HOURS A WEEK MUST HAVE RELIABLE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
