Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) and caregiver, where your compassionate care and vigilant presence make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring memory or dementia care. This energetic role offers an opportunity to provide overnight support, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being during nighttime hours. All paid positions include comprehensive training to empower you with the skills needed to excel. Duties Monitor residents' safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or needs. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medication following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Conduct routine checks of residents' vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to ensure health stability. Support residents with memory care needs by implementing behavior management techniques and engaging in calming activities. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Complete detailed shift reports, incident logs, and communicate effectively with day staff to ensure seamless care continuity. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly valued. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is preferred. Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or EMR systems are a plus. Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining alertness and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills to connect empathetically with residents and collaborate effectively with team members. Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities related to resident outings or errands if needed. Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and perform cleaning duties to maintain a safe environment.
