Responsibilities Support residents or clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required, ensuring safety and comfort during meal times. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas, laundry, and organizing personal belongings. Assist with patient observation to identify signs of distress or health deterioration, especially in residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare teams to deliver consistent and effective support aligned with each resident's needs. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations like HIPAA, ensuring clear communication within the care team. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, monitor vital signs, and recognize symptoms related to dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments. Proficiency in performing patient care tasks such as medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and basic nursing procedures. Strong skills in manual handling techniques including heavy lifting and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics. Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team committed to compassionate care.
