Job Summary:
The Caregiver/Personal Assistant will provide essential non-medical care and companionship to our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a compassionate individual who is attentive, reliable, and capable of working independently. The Caregiver/Personal Assistant must be flexible with their schedule, as this position includes mid-day, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Companionship:
Provide friendly and supportive companionship to clients, engaging in conversation and activities.
Personal Care Assistance:
Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Mobility Support:
Help clients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and exercising.
Medication Reminders:
Ensure clients take their medications on time and as prescribed.
Meal Preparation:
Prepare nutritious meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
Light Housekeeping:
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
Errands and Transportation:
Assist clients with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments.
Safety Monitoring:
Monitor clients' safety and well-being, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of care provided, including activities, observations, and any changes in clients' conditions.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the homecare team to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience in a caregiving role preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
Background Check:
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Test:
Must show proof of valid TB test, or be willing to complete a TB test
Availability:
Must be willing to work mid-day, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor. Ability to follow care plans and instructions. Reliable and punctual. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but not required.
