In-Home Caretaker

Overview Become an In-Home Caretaker, helping those with physical disabilities and/or Intellectual/developmental disabilities; where your dedication and skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and personal care. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide personalized, respectful, and professional care within clients' homes. You will be work with a reputable FMS company to complete applications, background checks and use their processes to clock in/out. Become a trusted partner in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for those in need of assistance. Your self starting and energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a smooth start and allow you to quickly begin working to help your client/employer of record. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining proper food safety and hygiene standards. Support mobility using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs; perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety. Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks (IADLS). Follow care plans meticulously, documenting progress and any incidents while respecting patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide emotional support and companionship to foster social engagement and reduce feelings of isolation or dementia-related confusion. help support them with getting out in the community (grocery shopping, hygiene shopping, attending events or going places they enjoy) Skills Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's), memory care, autism support, and hospice care practices (helpful but not required) Certified in First Aid and CPR; familiar with medication administration and vital signs monitoring (helpful but not required) . Skilled in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support (helpful but not required). Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts; adept at assisting with mobility challenges, when needed and depends on the persons needs. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy; experience developing or following detailed care plans. (Helpful but not Required) Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, family members, clients, TCMs or ILCs. compassionate caregiver with a patient-centered approach.
