This role is best suited for someone who prefers steady, structured work over fast-paced or highly social environments. Most of the shift involves maintaining a quiet atmosphere, monitoring for safety, following established routines, and responding calmly if support is needed. Applications missing either step will not be reviewed. About the Environment The home is intentionally calm, predictable, and low-noise. The caregiver is expected to work independently, remain attentive throughout the shift, and complete responsibilities without ongoing prompting or supervision. The individual receiving care is an adult with Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Success in this role requires patience, consistency, calm communication, and the ability to follow established routines. Overnight Expectations This is an awake overnight position. This is not a sleep shift. Caregivers must remain awake, alert, available, aware, and responsive throughout the entire shift. Overnight shifts include periods of quiet time, but caregivers are expected to remain attentive and ready to provide assistance when needed. Consistency, attentiveness, and reliability are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities Provide overnight supervision and maintain safety at all times Assist with toileting and basic personal care as needed Monitor for changes in condition or behavior Follow routines and complete tasks at the appropriate time without reminders Maintain a quiet, low-stimulation environment Respond calmly to repetition, confusion, or resistance without escalation Document notable events or concerns during the shift Maintain the home in a consistent and orderly condition aligned with the existing setup Core Expectations Ability to follow written instructions and routines independently Calm, steady communication style during repetition or pushback Reliable attendance and strong time management Ability to redirect calmly rather than argue or correct Comfortable working in a quiet environment with minimal stimulation Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout overnight hours Comfortable working in a home with multiple large dogs Ability to work independently after training This Role May Not Be a Good Fit If You need frequent reminders, direction, or check-ins to complete tasks You prefer fast-paced, highly interactive, or constantly busy environments You become easily frustrated with repetition, redirection, or structured routines You struggle to remain awake and attentive during overnight hours Requirements Prior caregiving, direct support, home care, healthcare, CNA, DSP, or related experience preferred Reliable transportation and dependable attendance history Comfortable working in a home with pets Our Hiring Process Step 1: Indeed Application Step 2: Initial Assessment Step 3: Situational Assessment Step 4: Written Response Assessment Step 5: Interview We move candidates forward based on responses at each stage.
