Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Respite Worker to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers of children with [specific needs, such as developmental disabilities or complex medical conditions]. The Respite Worker will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment, ensuring the child's well-being while giving families valuable time to rest and recharge.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, one-on-one care and supervision in [the child's home or community setting]. Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development. Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, feeding, and personal hygiene, following each child's care plan. Monitor and ensure the safety and comfort of the child at all times. Communicate regularly with families regarding activities, progress, and any concerns that arise during care. Adhere to individual care routines and behavior support strategies as outlined by caregivers or service providers.
Qualifications:
Proven experience working with children, ideally those with [developmental or physical disabilities, behavioral support needs, etc.] Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and nurturing approach. Ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive in changing situations. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring). High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in child care, social services, or special education is an asset.
