POSITION SUMMARY
The Personal Care Assistant helps the disabled, chronically ill, and less independent residents with activities of daily living which include using the toilet, bathing and washing, dressing, cooking, serving food and collecting food trays. The Personal Care Assistant helps residents with physical mobility, recreational, and social activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Help clients with mobility restrictions to get out of bed, bathe, dress, and groom Deliver basic health services like recording pulse rate, temperature, and respiration rate Ability to work with elders, showing understanding and patience. Able to provide residents help with prescribed exercises Flexible enough to work longer than normal hours, on weekends and holidays, or in other positions temporarily as directed by your supervisor or Director of Health/Personal Care. Must receive annually an evaluation of performance by the RN/LPN supervisor or Director or Health/Personal Care. Must complete annually corporate competencies prior to yearly evaluation. Must have a clear speaking voice and good telephone skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods. Ability to help lift and transport residents. Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted) Ability to interact effectively, with residents, their families, visitors and other staff members. Assist with medications administration. Provide light housekeeping and homemaking tasks Ability to read, write and speak English in an understandable manner. Performs other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
