Work as part of a team to provide a therapeutic milieu environment for children, to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children, and maintain a safe and healthy environment. Essential Functions for this position include: Directly supervise, plan, and implement social and recreational activities for children Apply Walker's model of childcare, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) verbal and physical deescalation methods Actively participate and respond to supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker Abilitiy to perform and implement treatment protocol established in children's treatment plans, IEPs, and individual crisis management plans Properly attend to administrative functions of childcare, including attending required meetings; completing assigned oral and written report writing tasks Administer medication in accordance with Walker's policy and procedures Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and safely Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, and phyisical therapeutic interventions
Preferred Qualifications :
Successful candidates will posess minimally a High School Diploma or GED, Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience. Students pursing continuing education in the following fields are also strongly encouraged to apply:
