Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver / Companion providing non-medical in-home care that transforms lives! In this vital role, you will offer friendly companionship, assist with daily activities, and support seniors and individuals with disabilities to live comfortably and independently. Your dedication will help create a safe, engaging environment where clients feel valued, respected, and cared for every day. This position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a meaningful difference while fostering trust and independence. Responsibilities Provide companionship by engaging clients in conversation, activities, and social outings to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring safety and cleanliness during food handling Monitor clients' health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting concerns to family or healthcare professionals Support medication reminders and help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces to maintain a safe environment Assist with transportation for appointments or errands, ensuring safety during travel and adherence to care plans Follow all HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and maintain professional standards of care Requirements Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice care or HIPAA compliance is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., assisting with transfers or mobility) and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients' families and healthcare teams Demonstrated compassion, patience, and adaptability in caring for diverse populations across long-term care settings Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred for client outings Join us in delivering exceptional non-medical care that empowers individuals to thrive at home!
