Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Overnight Caregiver to provide high-quality care during nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient observation, medication management, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Responsibilities Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs and overall condition during overnight shifts. Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support, including the safe operation of equipment like Hoyer lifts. Administer medications accurately in accordance with care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Respond promptly to residents' needs or emergencies, including providing CPR or first aid when necessary. Document observations, incidents, and care provided during the shift to ensure seamless communication with daytime staff. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Support residents with meal preparation or snacks as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed precisely. Skills Proven experience in home health, hospice care, or senior care environments, preferably including assisted living or nursing home settings. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs measurement, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong observational skills for patient safety and well-being; excellent communication abilities for effective documentation.
