About Us The Latin American Health Alliance (LAHA) is a non-profit organization in Central Massachusetts dedicated to improving the health and well‑being of underserved communities, with a strong focus on the Latinx population. Through culturally responsive addiction recovery services, healthcare access, and educational support, we work to empower individuals facing challenges related to substance use disorders. The Hector Reyes House is a residential recovery program for Latino men, providing a safe, structured, and supportive environment where residents can rebuild their lives. Position Summary Recovery Specialists (RS) play a key role in supporting residents through their recovery journey. This position involves providing peer support, facilitating groups, assisting with daily living skills, and helping maintain a safe, stable, and healing environment. Recovery Specialists work collaboratively with staff and residents and must be comfortable working mixed shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Provide individualized, resident‑centered support to help residents achieve recovery goals. Assist with medication administration in accordance with program policies. Facilitate individual and group recovery support sessions, including non‑clinical self‑help groups. Model and teach grounding, coping, and healing strategies. Support residents in developing life skills such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, housekeeping, and time management. Maintain a clean, organized, and supportive facility environment. Help residents manage schedules, appointments, and daily routines. Guide residents in creating and updating their Recovery Plans. Encourage healthy lifestyle habits and positive decision‑making. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program improvement. Complete daily documentation, incident reports, and other required records accurately and on time. Communicate effectively with staff during shift changes to ensure continuity of care. Assist with housekeeping and food preparation as needed. Provide transportation and accompany residents to appointments or activities. Assist with crisis intervention when necessary. Support a team‑oriented approach to household management and program operations. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Bilingual/Bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply. Strong Spanish language skills highly valued. Commitment to working with Latino men in recovery from substance use disorders. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Flexibility, positivity, and a strong belief in the recovery process. Ability to make sound, independent decisions, including in emergencies. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license preferred.
Pay:
$18.00 per hour
