Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in a home setting. This role offers the unique opportunity to live on-site, ensuring continuous, personalized care for residents with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care that promotes safety, independence, and well-being, all while maintaining a warm and respectful environment. Must be looking for permanent housing Responsibilities Provide direct support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary needs are met and meals are nutritious and appealing. Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization of resident spaces. Use patient observation skills to detect early signs of health issues such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory care needs. Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence. Follow care plans meticulously while respecting residents' privacy and dignity; document observations in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely; perform heavy lifting as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures; participate in ongoing training as required. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver holistic care tailored to each resident's specific conditions, including hospice or palliative care when necessary. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques such as medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient observation. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia, Alzheimer's disease or memory care needs is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Proven ability to perform caregiving tasks involving heavy lifting and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely. Strong background in providing compassionate long-term care for seniors or individuals requiring specialized support such as hospice or home health services. Group home experience combined with skills in social work or nursing enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive support.
