Description:
About the Role We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Personal Support Specialists. In this role, you will provide essential non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in the comfort of their own homes. Your support helps our clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities Personal Care:
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
Mobility Support:
Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
Household Support:
Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
Nutrition:
Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
Companionship:
Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
Transportation:
Escort clients to doctor's appointments and help with essential errands.
Reporting:
Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.
Requirements:
Background:
Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Transportation:
Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of active auto insurance.
Character:
A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Physical:
Ability to perform the physical tasks required of the role (lifting, bending, and standing).
