Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Job Summary Exceller Support Solutions (E.S.S) is looking for dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to join our team! We provide high-quality in-home support to adults and seniors under MaineCare Section 19, helping our clients maintain their independence and dignity within their own homes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful work, prefers working independently, and wants to make a difference in others' lives. As a Personal Support Specialist (PSS), you will provide hands-on support with personal care, daily living activities, and routine household tasks to help clients remain safe and comfortable in their homes. Key Responsibilities As a PSS, you will be the heart of our care team, providing essential assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:

Personal Care:

Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Mobility Support:

Helping with bed mobility, transfers, locomotion, and positioning to ensure safety.

Nutrition:

Preparing meals and assisting with eating as outlined in the client's Plan of Care.

Home Management:

Perform light housekeeping, do laundry, and run essential errands. Monitor and report changes in a client's condition, health, or safety Provide medication reminders or assistance as allowed by training and care plan Companionship and comfort: Build supportive relationships, provide emotional well-being, and a reliable, friendly presence. Follow safety procedures and infection control guidelines Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules Treat all clients with dignity, respect, and compassion

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate daily logs and use Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) to document care accurately and on time.

Requirements Certification:

Valid Maine PSS Certification or DSP, and willingness to complete PSS training paid by the company within 9 months of hire.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Skills:

Strong communication, reliability, and a passion for helping others.

Background:

Ability to pass a Maine Background Check (MBCC).

Physical:

Ability to lift/support clients (up to 50 lbs) and assist with mobility. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Must maintain active vehicle insurance Must be available for afternoon and evening shifts Must have a working cell phone for EVV documentation and scheduling Why Join Exceller Support Solutions?

Competitive Pay:

$16.50 - $20.00+/hr (based on experience). Pay increases based on performance, reliability, and additional certifications
