Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a PSS, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized support, ensuring safety, and fostering a warm, respectful environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities while working within a dynamic team committed to excellence in care. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability Support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and memory care needs through specialized engagement and behavior management techniques Provide transportation for appointments or outings by driving safely within the community and maintaining a valid driver's license Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal consumption as needed Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident areas and common spaces Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of long-term care practices, senior care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities Ability to perform personal care tasks such as assisting with ADLs and using equipment like Hoyer lifts safely Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care strategies Competence in vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid procedures Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record-keeping Join us to become part of a caring team dedicated to enriching lives through compassionate support.
