Job Description

Kennebec Behavioral Health , established in 1960 to provide comprehensive behavioral health services to Central Maine communities, named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for the past five years, and now recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic ( CCBHC) , is currently seeking a full-time Community Living Services (CLS) Support Worker to join our team in the Augusta/Waterville area . The CLS Support Worker provides community-based support to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness who reside independently in the community. Staff meet with clients in the community to provide daily support, promote independence, and help individuals maintain stability in the least restrictive level of care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Meet with clients in the community to provide daily support and skill building Teach and reinforce daily living skills, including maintaining a safe and healthy living environment Support medication adherence through daily check-ins Provide psychoeducation to help individuals better understand and manage their mental health Assist clients in accessing and utilizing community resources and services Collaborate with clinical staff and other providers to support client goals The goal of the CLS program is to help individuals remain successfully in their own apartments, reduce ER and crisis service use, and improve overall functioning and independence.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant education in behavioral health, psychology, or social services preferred. Must have a MHRT-1 or eligibility to obtain a provisional MHRT-1. Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges preferred. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the service area. Ability to work independently in a community-based setting. Training and other certifications are provided by KBH to include first aid/CPR, MANDT, MHSS and CRMA, as needed.
