As a CLS Mentor, you'll work in groups with individuals with disabilities, helping foster positive community involvement, planning personalized goals, and helping them develop greater independence. Whether you are supporting someone during a community outing, teaching daily living skills, or simply being a positive role model, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life! No prior experience is necessary. We provide paid training and ongoing support. Summary of essential job functionsBuild positive relationships with individuals and their families. Support individuals in developing life skills that increase independence and improve quality of lifeAssist individuals in working toward goals identified through Person-Centered PlanningEncourage community involvement and participation in meaningful activitiesFollow supervision guidelines established by CMH or Network 180Implement therapy, behavior, and dietary plans as directed by agency professionalsSafely transport individuals to and from community activities using your personal vehicleMaintain accurate documentation through our online systems and required reportsAssist with personal care needs, including feeding, dressing, and restroom assistance when neededServe as a positive role model, advocate, and mentorPerform other duties as assignedMinimum requirementsBe able to lift up to 50 lbsValid Drivers license, acceptable driving record, and proof of car insurance.
Must be able to pass a background checkMust demonstrate a passionate interest for helping people with disabilities Must be mature, reliable, and honest Must demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills and be able to work well with little supervision Must have a flexible schedule
