Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to provide essential support and assistance the elderly. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through personalized care, fostering independence, and ensuring safety in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in care. Responsibilities Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Administer medications following prescribed care plans and ensure accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Monitor vital signs and observe health changes, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Support residents with memory care needs by implementing behavior management strategies and engaging in therapeutic activities tailored to individual preferences. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with meal service while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident areas and common spaces. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable. Experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and implementing care plans for individuals with disabilities or memory impairments such as dementia or autism. Knowledge of medical terminology, first aid procedures, HIPAA compliance, and EMR systems is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting is sometimes required. Strong patience and empathy are essential for success in this role.
