Divine Rest Haven is a beautiful ranch home located in Lansing that provides quality care up to 6 residents. The role requires a combination of caregiver skills, patience, and dedication to improving the lives of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
  • Encourage and assist residents with participating in recreational, educational, and social activities such as exercise, games, skill-building lessons, reading, movies, outdoor events, and arts and crafts.
  • Assist with cooking and serving meals, housekeeping, and maintaining a clean, safe, and home-like environment.
  • Monitor and document resident's physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the home administrator as needed.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and maintain accurate medication records.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, following established procedures for medical, fire, or safety incidents.
  • Implement and follow individualized care plans for each resident, ensuring personalized care and attention.
  • Complete daily documentation of resident activities, observations, and progress.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
  • Provide respectful, person-centered care and support to all residents.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have great attendance
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience working with clients with developmental delay and/or mental illness.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others.
  • Must be able to complete all required training (CPR/First Aid, Recipient Rights, Medication Administration, etc.) upon hire.
  • Must be able to cook meals
Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow care plans and provide individualize care
  • Basic understanding of medication administration and health monitoring.
  • physical ability to assist residents with mobility and daily activities.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification required (or must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
Background Check:
  • Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprinting as required by state regulations.
Work Environment:
  • This position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting and assisting residents with mobility.
Schedule:
  • Full-time night shift (72hrs/ pay period 7pm-7am including holidays and weekends) or part-time night shift (48hrs/ pay period).
