Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals with various needs, including those with autism, dementia, and other memory-related challenges. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by assisting them with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their rights are respected. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Support individuals with memory care needs through structured activities that enhance cognitive function. Implement behavior management strategies as needed to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Advocate for resident rights and ensure that each individual is treated with dignity and respect. Lift and transfer residents safely while adhering to proper techniques to prevent injury. Document care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate staff members. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and social workers to develop personalized care plans. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or direct patient care is preferred but not required. Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals in your care. Familiarity with memory care strategies and techniques for working with individuals on the autism spectrum is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
