Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in need during nighttime hours. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents or clients while maintaining a warm, respectful environment. As an Overnight Caregiver, you will be instrumental in delivering personalized care, monitoring health status, and assisting with daily activities in a variety of settings including assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a secure and nurturing atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence for those you serve. Responsibilities Monitor residents' or clients' health status throughout the night by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, grooming, mobility assistance, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans. Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent needs using CPR and first aid skills; communicate effectively with emergency responders if necessary. Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations, medication administration, and any incidents during your shift while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support residents with meal preparation and light cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility. Conduct regular checks on residents' safety, comfort, and emotional well-being throughout the night shift. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly preferred. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous.(WE

) Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer's care), autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient monitoring techniques. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong observational skills for patient safety, vital signs monitoring, and recognizing changes in condition. Compassionate attitude combined with excellent communication skills to foster trust and rapport with residents and team members.
