Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to residents in our AFC home setting. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. As a Personal Assistant Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and essential part of your clients' daily lives, ensuring they receive personalized assistance with their activities and health needs. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in health status to ensure safety and proper care Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and personal preferences, supporting overall health Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance for privacy Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's disease and dementia, utilizing specialized techniques Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment for residents Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for long-term or short-term needs Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement Observe patient behavior closely, report concerns promptly, and document all care activities thoroughly Requirements Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly preferred Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care is a plus Strong knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient observation techniques Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy at all times Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends or overnight as needed Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others Join our team as a Personal Assistant Caregiver where your dedication transforms lives!
