Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care practices and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Duties Provide direct personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Support individuals with disabilities by implementing care plans tailored to their specific needs. Assist clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement to promote independence and well-being. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care is provided. Utilize conflict management skills to address any issues that may arise during care provision. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers. Stay informed about medical terminology relevant to client care and treatment. Skills Strong background in patient care, particularly with individuals who have disabilities or developmental challenges. Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable. Knowledge of case management principles and the ability to develop effective care plans. Familiarity with various systems used in healthcare settings for documentation and reporting. Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of clients. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
