Job Description

Position Summary:
The Caregiver/Resident Assistant performs routine service duties to provide for the care, comfort and safety of residents in a residential setting. Assists residents with personal hygiene and meals, according to specific procedures. We currently have the following openings: Day (7:00 a.m.
  • 3:30 p.m.)
  • part time Afternoon (3:00 p.m.
  • 11:30 p.m.)
  • full time & part time (5% shift premium) Midnight shift
  • (11:00 p.m.
  • 7:30 a.m.)
  • part time (10% shift premium)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides for care, comfort, and safety of assigned residents under direction of a licensed nurse. Assists residents with showers, dressing, oral hygiene, bed making, meal service, activities, wellness programs, preparation for doctors' appointments, and outings. Provides meal service in a main dining area. Offers and distributes snacks, supplements and special requests under the direction of the nurse. Responds to resident call system to determine resident's needs and relay information to appropriate nursing/administrative personnel in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Previous experience as a Caregiver is preferred. Ability to interact with residents, families, supervisors, and peers in a supportive, cooperative and courteous manner. Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices): Must be able to move throughout the workday (sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat and walk). Must be able to cope with the physical and emotional stress of the position.
