Direct Care Worker

Position Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) / Direct Care Workers to provide in-home services to individuals receiving home care. Staff will support clients in maintaining independence, safety, and dignity while following individualized care plans and company policies. Shift Description (Overnight Sleep Staff): This position is an overnight sleep shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM . Staff are permitted to sleep during designated overnight hours when the client is resting. However, staff must remain on-site for the full duration of the shift and be continuously available to provide supervision and respond immediately to client needs, including call pendant alerts, safety concerns, or assistance requests . This role requires the ability to awaken as needed and provide care in accordance with the client's care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as outlined in the care plan (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility) Provide supervision and ensure client safety at all times during the shift Respond promptly to call systems, including pendant alerts and verbal requests Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Prepare meals/snacks as appropriate to the time of shift or care plan Offer companionship and emotional support Provide medication reminders per care plan and company policy (no administration unless authorized) Accurately document cares provided, client status, and any incidents or changes in condition Follow all company policies, DHS guidelines, and client-specific service plans

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Valid driver's license and current auto insurance Ability to remain awake or become fully alert as needed to respond to client needs Ability to follow written care plans and document services accurately Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required Must pass a DHS background study

Pay:

$18.00 per hour
