Job Description

We are looking for Direct Care Professionals who take pride in their work, show up with integrity, and genuinely care about making a difference in someone's daily life. We are seeking compassionate and adaptable Direct Care Professionals (DCP) to join our team for serving individuals in our crisis program, providing short-term, person-centered support to individuals experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. This critical role involves offering immediate, stabilization-focused care in a safe, structured environment to help clients regain control, reduce distress, and successfully transition back to their community or long-term care setting. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, empathetic, and committed to supporting individuals with dignity during times of acute need. Our site locations are in the North Metro. Responsibilities Provide direct, short-term support to individuals in crisis, focusing on de-escalation, emotional regulation, and stabilization. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, meals, medication reminders, and rest. Offer compassionate listening and basic emotional support , following trauma-informed care principles. Implement and support individualized care plans , including behavior support strategies and crisis interventions when necessary. Support clients in developing coping skills , stress reduction techniques, and re-engagement with their support systems. Accurately monitor, document, and report client behavior, mood changes, and safety concerns in a timely manner. Collaborate with clinical teams, case managers, family members, and other caregivers to coordinate short-term care and transition planning. Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment , adhering to all safety protocols and confidentiality standards. Participate in ongoing training, including crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and emergency procedures. Transport clients to appointments and outings as needed Must be available to work 1-2 weekends out of the month. Other related duties Qualifications Experience in crisis care, mental health, respite services, or behavioral support strongly preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed care , crisis intervention , or mental health first aid is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to respond effectively in high-stress situations. Ability to remain calm, respectful, and supportive when managing challenging behaviors. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to also work independently. Prior experience in direct support, group homes, home care, or mental health settings preferred. Must pass all required background checks and meet state regulatory requirements. Due to the nature of this role and the level of responsibility required when supporting vulnerable individuals, applicants must be at least 22 years old Join our team and be a source of stability and care during someone's most vulnerable moments. Please note we are NOT hiring for overnight shifts at this time, so please only apply if your availability aligns with the 7-3 or 3-11 shifts.
