Job Description:
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Position Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily care and supervision to ensure the client's safety, comfort, and development. The DSP will work alongside the family to create a safe and supportive environment at home and in the community. The DSP will be present during scheduled Individualized Home Supports (IHS) hours to help with daily routines, redirect when needed, and respond quickly to any situations that may cause harm. Their role is to help the client build skills and confidence while maintaining consistent routines and providing calm, attentive care. Key Responsibilities (Most responsibilities will be given during the interview)
Safety Monitoring & Elopement Prevention:
Maintain a constant line of sight supervision. Implement safety protocols and crisis intervention strategies as needed.
Behavior Support:
Recognize early signs of distress or behavioral escalation. Provide calming redirection and reinforcement of positive behaviors. Schedule & Hours Detailed hours are provided during the interview. Qualifications Knowledge of crisis intervention and positive behavior support strategies. Ability to maintain a safe environment and respond quickly to potential hazards. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with family and school staff. Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor. Cleared background check. Additional Information All care must follow the established individualized care plan and safety protocols. Staff will be trained to handle self-injurious behaviors and elopement risks. Regular documentation and communication with guardians and supervisors are required. This job requires consistent attentiveness, quick response to safety concerns, and a supportive, patient approach to foster the client's growth and well-being.

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
