Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Staff member, where your compassionate care and proactive support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote independence, and foster a safe, respectful environment for residents in a group home setting. Your energy and commitment will help create a nurturing atmosphere where each individual feels valued and empowered to thrive. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Monitor and record vital signs to ensure residents' health and well-being are maintained Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Support residents during meals by preparing nutritious food, assisting with eating, and ensuring dietary needs are met Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in resident rooms and common areas Drive residents to appointments or community activities when required, ensuring safe transportation practices Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that meet individual needs Use proper techniques for transfers and mobility assistance to promote safety and independence Document all care activities accurately in compliance with facility policies and state regulations Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred; experience with long-term care or group homes is highly valued Familiarity with Therap for documentation purposes Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities of any kind Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with residents, families, and team members Valid driver's license preferred for transportation duties; clean driving record required if applicable Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks including lifting, transferring, and standing for extended periods Join us in creating a supportive environment where every individual receives the respectful and attentive care they deserve.
