Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Center Aide to provide supportive care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs in a community-based setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of participants, fostering a welcoming environment that promotes independence and quality of life. This role involves working closely with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health conditions, requiring patience, attentiveness, and a strong commitment to person-centered care. Responsibilities Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior Provide medication administration following prescribed care plans and HIPAA guidelines Support meal preparation and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met Utilize proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or resident transfers to ensure safe mobility and prevent injury Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and socialization Maintain cleanliness of the facility by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards Document care activities accurately while respecting privacy and confidentiality standards Recognize signs of medical emergencies or behavioral issues and respond appropriately, including administering CPR or first aid if necessary Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and support teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, long-term care, home health, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training will be provided if necessary Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, or working with people with developmental disabilities is advantageous Ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals with complex health needs in a home or community setting Strong observational skills to monitor patient condition and report concerns promptly Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required and assist residents with mobility using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts Familiarity with medication administration protocols and documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance Patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality resident-centered care This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring supportive services while working in a respectful and professional environment.
