Nanny/Caregiver for Severely Autistic Teen Private Household - 4.3 Kansas City, MO Job Details Part-time $16 - $21 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Personal service experience with children Assisting with ADLs Child safety supervision Feeding for children Working with individuals with neurological conditions Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Nanny/Caregiver to support a severely autistic teenage girl. She has a large communication barrier. She is also self injurous and has fits that include extreme self injurous behaviors (i.e. hitting herself repeatdly, kicking, etc.) This role involves providing attentive, nurturing care tailored to his unique needs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, and experienced in working with children with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum. You will play a vital role in fostering her development, promoting independence, and creating a positive daily routine that encourages growth and well-being. Would like her to be taken places to have fun on a daily basis, experience fun things for teenagers that are appropriate. And for you to help her learn how to communicate better. Outside of the fits/self injurious she is a wonderful person who deserves lots of care and love. Must have a reliable vehicle, must be flexable, must be able to pass a drug test and random drug tests. Noon to 6/7/8 during summer 2-3 days a week and pick up off bus during school year around 3pm. Will need transportation to Lawrence on Friday late afternoons each week. Must like dogs. Thank you. Responsibilities Provide attentive caregiving that addresses the specific needs of a severely autistic teen, including behavioral support and emotional reassurance Assist with daily routines such as dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote independence Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary requirements and preferences Engage in educational activities, playtime, and therapeutic exercises to stimulate cognitive and social development Implement safety protocols at all times, including supervision during outings and activities to prevent harm Communicate regularly with family members about progress, challenges, and daily updates to ensure consistency in care Thank you!
