Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Homemaker, where your dedication and caregiving skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily living. This vital role involves creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment, ensuring residents' needs are met with kindness and professionalism. Whether working in a group home, assisted living facility, or providing home health care, you will play a key part in promoting independence and well-being for those in your care. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits Conduct patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure health status is stable and report any concerns promptly Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing thorough cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards Support residents with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations Assist with medication management, including reminders and proper storage, following care plans established by healthcare professionals Engage in dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorder-specific activities to promote cognitive engagement and emotional well-being Support residents' participation in social activities and community outings to foster social interaction and independence Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and manual handling techniques to ensure a secure environment for all Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or neurodevelopmental disorders in group home or home health settings Strong knowledge of patient care practices including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer's care Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of resident information Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces effectively Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status or behavior Experience supporting residents with disabilities or geriatrics through personalized care plans and assistance with ADLs Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, assisting with transfers using Hoyer lifts or other equipment, and supporting mobility needs This role offers an engaging opportunity to provide essential support that enhances the lives of those you serve.
