Job Description
Located in the heart of St. Charles, our award-winning Crisis Nursery is dedicated to supporting families, particularly children, during times of crisis. Our team of Child Specialists is expertly trained by Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Art and Play Therapists to provide top-notch care. We're looking for compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families facing life's toughest challenges. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.
Pay & Benefits:
Base rate starting at $17 per hour $1 differential for all evening hours worked Higher starting wage based on college education, certifications (CNA, CMT, etc.), and additional years of child care experience Minimum requirements: High School Diploma/GED and at least 21 years old Please ensure you can comfortably commute toSaint Charles Current Hours Available:
Full-Time Mon- Fri 3pm to 11pm Full-Time Sun
- Thurs 11pm to 7 am Full
- Time Fri-Mon 10 pm to 8 am Part-Time Fri, Sat, Sun 11pm to 7 am (can work one or more)
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, hygiene, and bedtime Monitor and document children's behavior and progress, addressing any concerns with parents or guardians Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to play and learning Respond appropriately to Crisis Nursery Helpline calls; provide assessment and crisis counseling to parents, offering referrals to appropriate community resources. Complete intake assessment with parents, providing crisis intervention, referrals and support to parents in developing therapeutic goals. When space is available at the Nursery, contact waiting list families, and reach out to families who are known to be in great difficulty or in recent distress who may benefit from having more time in the Nursery. Maintain a nonjudgmental and strengths-based approach when discussing family situations. Document all relevant information in a timely, fact-based manner including care given to a child, the child's response, disclosure of family situation by the child or guardian, etc. Complete cleaning, sanitizing and laundry responsibilities as indicated for the shift.
