Summary As a Direct Support Professional, you will be instrumental in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism. Your core skills in home and community care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and effective communication will be essential in fostering a nurturing environment. With no prior experience required, you will receive training to enhance your premium skills in behavior management and special education. A valid driver's license is necessary for this role, as you will assist clients in their daily activities and community engagement. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Foster effective communication and build rapport with clients to enhance their quality of life. Implement behavior management strategies and support clients in achieving personal goals. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any significant changes to supervisors. Drive clients to appointments and community activities as needed.
