Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as an Elderly Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the life of our mother. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, dignity, health and well-being. Your energy and attentiveness will help create a safe, supportive environment where our mother feels valued and cared for every day. This paid position offers the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships while honing your caregiving skills in a dynamic setting. In house housing available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Assist our mother with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as using the restroom, bathing, dressing, grooming, attending medical and rehabilitative appointments, mobility support using a walker, wheelchair, or cane. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards. Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices aligned with assisted living or home care standards. Support our mother with cognitive challenges through memory care techniques and patient-centered activities. Document all care activities meticulously, including medication administration, patient observations, and updates to care plans. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive support tailored to our mother's needs. Skills Proven experience in senior care, home health, assisted living, or nursing home environments with a strong understanding of patient observation and monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid; knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy is essential. Familiarity with nutrition and hydration challenges. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina is required for long shifts. Experience working with individuals recovering from a long term hospitalization. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, residents, and the family members while maintaining detailed documentation. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures within long-term or home care settings. Compassionate attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to caregiving responsibilities. Ability to drive her to/from appointments and wait with her throughout the appointment.
