Appalachian Community Services currently has employment opportunities for both full-time and part-time (weekend) Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Asheville, NC area supporting individuals with their mental and behavioral health needs in a group home setting. This role is a strong fit for experienced caregivers, DSPs, CNAs, HHAs, PCAs, home health workers, and other direct care professionals looking to continue their work in a meaningful, person-centered setting. It is also a great opportunity for dependable people who want to transition into caregiving and receive training and support. Experience as a caregiver is not required to be considered for this role and we provide all the training necessary to ensure your success. About Us Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. We provide a wide range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children. What You'll Do As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you will: Provide daily, individualized care focused on client safety, health, and well-being Help with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and routine support Follow each client's Person Centered Plan (PCP) and behavior support plan Support clients in building independence, daily living skills, and social skills Transport clients to appointments, shopping, and community outings Complete daily documentation and incident reports accurately and on time Respond to crisis situations and emergencies with professionalism and empathy Support clients with communication needs, including adaptive communication tools when needed Additional duties as required to meet client needs Available Shift Options We currently have the following Full-Time and Part-Time shifts available: Full-Time, 3pm-11pm, working Monday-Friday Part-Time, 7am-7pm (12-hour shift), working Saturday and Sunday Part-Time, 7pm-7am (12-hour shift), working Saturday and Sunday Why Join Appalachian Community Services Predictable set weekly schedule Paid training provided Both Full-Time and Part-Time (Weekend) Shifts Available Meaningful work that makes a daily impact Supportive team environment Opportunities for growth and career development Competitive benefits package Must be 18 years of age or older. Experience in direct care, caregiving, home health, behavioral health, or related support roles is helpful, but not required. Training is provided.
