About Rosewood Memory Care Rosewood Memory Care is a small, family-owned residential memory care home in Charlotte. We provide 24/7 personalized support for residents living with dementia in a warm, beautiful home environment. Our care model is different from a large facility. We focus on creating a meaningful day for each resident through personal attention, purposeful engagement, and loving care. We are looking for an Activity Assistant / Care Assistant who is naturally warm, creative, patient, and comfortable helping residents stay engaged throughout the day. About the Role This is not a traditional "CNA-only" floor position. The main focus of this role is to support daily life enrichment and activities for residents, while also helping with hands-on personal care as needed. You will work under the direction of our Life Enrichment Director and alongside our Care Lead team to help create a calm, engaging, and meaningful daily rhythm for our residents. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys: Leading simple activities Talking with seniors Helping residents feel seen and included Creating moments of joy throughout the day Supporting personal care in a respectful, gentle way ResponsibilitiesLife Enrichment / Activities Lead and assist with daily resident activities Encourage participation in crafts, music, games, walks, baking, conversation, light exercise, and sensory activities Help residents stay engaged throughout the day, not just during scheduled activity times Support small group and one-on-one engagement Assist with community experiences, special events, and themed days Help prepare activity supplies and clean up after programs Observe what residents enjoy and help personalize activities to their interests Document participation and meaningful moments as directed Care Support Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing support, transfers, and mobility Help residents during meals, including cueing, encouragement, and cutting food as needed Support safe movement and fall prevention Keep resident rooms and common areas tidy Assist with laundry, light housekeeping, and home routines as part of the team Communicate changes in resident condition or behavior to the Care Lead or supervisor Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Warm, patient, and emotionally mature Creative and willing to lead activities Comfortable working with people living with dementia Dependable and consistent Able to take initiative without waiting to be told every step Comfortable providing personal care A team player who understands that engagement and care happen together Positive, calm, and respectful in a home environment Experience Preferred but not required: Experience in memory care, assisted living, adult day programs, home care, childcare, recreation, activities, education, or caregiving CNA certification is a plus, but not required for the right person Experience leading activities, crafts, games, music, exercise, or social engagement is highly valued We are open to training the right person who has the right heart, personality, and reliability. You are not just helping residents get through the day — you are helping create the day. Requirements Must be reliable and punctual Must be comfortable assisting with personal care Must be able to lift, bend, stand, and assist residents safely Must pass required background checks Must be kind, patient, and respectful Dementia care experience is a plus CNA is a plus, but not required Schedule Part-time shifts available. Weekend availability may be required. Pay Competitive pay based on experience, certification, and fit for the role. Pay:
