Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Tech to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate must be certified to give medications in an adult care home and will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and dementia. Duties Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions. Assist with tube feeding and ensure proper nutrition for patients requiring specialized dietary support. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Offer emotional support and companionship to patients, particularly those experiencing memory loss or cognitive challenges. Engage in caregiving activities that promote the physical and mental well-being of patients in home care or assisted living environments. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care and caregiving. Qualifications Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or a related field is preferred. Med Tech Certified for Adult Care Homes. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus. Strong knowledge of caregiving techniques, including dementia care and medication administration. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
