Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion to provide essential support and companionship to individuals in need. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care and be able to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism. Duties Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with daily living activities and encourage independence. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Assist with mobility and lifting when necessary to ensure client safety. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to resident rights at all times. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client status to appropriate personnel. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care. Skills Experience working with individuals with autism is highly desirable. Proficient in first aid techniques and emergency response protocols. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care standards. Familiarity with nursing home or group home environments is a plus. Strong direct support skills, including the ability to lift clients safely when required. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions. Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for clients' needs. Background in social work or related fields can enhance effectiveness in this role.
