As a Peer Mentor and Caregiver, you will foster a safe, encouraging environment that promotes recovery, resilience, and hope. Duties Provide empathetic mentorship to individuals facing mental health, addiction, or behavioral challenges, fostering trust and motivation. Assist clients in developing coping strategies through motivational interviewing and behavioral health techniques. Respond promptly to crises using crisis management skills, ensuring safety for clients and staff. Support clients in navigating mental health counseling sessions and connecting with appropriate resources. Document client interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create personalized care plans that address each client's unique needs. Educate clients about available community resources, relapse prevention, and self-care practices. Skills Strong background in crisis intervention and crisis management to handle urgent situations effectively. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and addiction counseling techniques. Experience in mental health counseling, social work, or related fields is highly desirable. Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire positive change. Proficiency in motivational interviewing to facilitate client engagement and goal setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation. Effective communication skills to build rapport with diverse populations and collaborate with team members.
