YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Companionship One of the most important aspects of Caregiving is providing clients with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life, and their environment will create a true sense of companionship. Whether it's playing a favorite board game or card game, reading, taking a stroll, or visiting with friends and neighbors, companionship provides the depth of our services. Homemaking Dusting; washing hardwood and flooring; vacuuming carpets and furniture; changing bedding; scrubbing the bathroom; pre-washing, washing, drying, ironing and folding laundry; cleaning refrigerator/freezer; caring for house plants; taking out garbage; general tidying of living spaces; caring for pets including feeding, exercising, walking, playing with and cleaning up after pets. Kitchen work Grocery shopping; preparing menus and meals; cooking; baking; serving; assisting with eating; washing and drying dishes; general tidying up. Transportation and escort Transportation to appointments or running errands, in Caregiver or client's vehicle. Personal care Supervision of or assistance with: grooming needs such as hair care, shaving, cleaning teeth/dentures; tub baths, showers, sponge baths and bed baths; dressing and undressing; mobilization activities including turning, transferring, exercising and walking; toileting/commode needs; eating and feeding; reminders to take medications.Personal care does NOT include:
cutting of fingernails/toenails; changing dressings; handling medications in any way. •REQUIREMENTS
Two years experience in personal care or proof of LNA license preferred (not required) High school equivalent or GED preferred Must be 18 years of age or older Valid driver's license with 100/300k auto insurance and reliable transportation Must be able to pass the NH state criminal background check, BEAS check, health screening and a 2-step TB test Ability to work independently Excellent communication and listening skills, compassionate, patient and caring nature Able to work in a stressful environment Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of caregiving which may include lifting up to 50lbs, bending, pushing, pulling and carrying items such as laundry, groceries, etc. Access to the internet on a daily basis.- Straight from the horse's mouth
