Respite Direct Support Assistant

GED Full Job Description Qualifications:
High School Diploma Experience in working with participants with developmental disabilities and/or medical challenges
Work Hours:
3:00 pm•6:00 pm, Monday•Friday as assigned
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and able to assist a child and/or young adult. Must be able to do frequent bending, kneeling and sitting. Must be able to stand for multiple hours at a time.
Overall Description:
Provide companionship for participants as directed by the Program Director or designee.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and safeguard each family/child's right to privacy, respect and confidentiality. Engage each child in activities that enhance and increase the client's daily living and social recreational skills. Facilitate social and recreational activities or activities of daily living per family service agreement. Assist Program Director or designee as directed in maintaining accurate required records. Ensure that a safe and healthy environment is maintained for all children at all times.
