Weekend Companion Position:
Part-Time Live-Out Companion Schedule:
Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 AM - 9:00

•ASAP About the Family A warm and loving family in Lebanon, NJ is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Companion to provide support and companionship for their 30-year-old non-verbal son with autism. The family is looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their support system and provide attentive care in a safe, nurturing environment.

Not specified Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and ensure safety at all times Assist with activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, and toileting Engage him in activities he enjoys, such as listening to music, swinging outdoors, and playing with toys Monitor for seizures and respond appropriately if they occur Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement Maintain a calm, positive, and nurturing environment Communicate regularly with parents regarding his daily activities, routines, and well-being Assist with maintaining consistency in daily routines and schedules Stay overnight as needed if parents travel Ideal Candidate & Personality The ideal candidate is warm, patient, compassionate, and experienced working with individuals with special needs. They should be calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and comfortable providing hands-on assistance with daily care. The family is seeking someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoys helping others thrive. Medical experience is highly valued, particularly experience related to seizure management and developmental disabilities. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with special needs Excellent references Legal to work in the United States Valid driver's license and clean driving record Knowledge of seizure protocols and response procedures Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Additional Information:
A separate apartment is available should the caregiver wish to stay overnight between shifts.
