Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Caregiver to join our team, providing essential support and personalized care to individuals in various care settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being through attentive and respectful assistance. This position is perfect for motivated individuals looking to contribute positively while gaining valuable experience in health and social care. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition, ensuring timely communication with healthcare professionals when necessary. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks, laundry, and organization of living spaces. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfer and mobility assistance. Document care activities accurately and adhere to all protocols related to patient monitoring, safety procedures, and HIPAA compliance. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social engagement and mental well-being. Collaborate with team members on developing and implementing personalized care plans for each resident or client. Follow all safety guidelines including CPR, first aid procedures, and emergency response protocols to ensure the highest level of care. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, memory care techniques, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina is essential for supporting mobility tasks. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition or behavior. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams. Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care at all times. Flexibility to work part-time hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
