HEAL Resident Advocate Graveyard Shift Primary/Essential Job Functions:
The Resident Advocate reports to Shelter Manager. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
Duties include:
Responsible for the safety and well-being of the shelter residents Provide crisis intervention, information and referral services Provide orientation to new shelter residents Assist in the development of a service plan for residents Ensure residents' understanding of empowerment plan goals Provide referrals to residents to achieve their empowerment plan goals Monitor resident's progress toward empowerment plan goals Assist residents to develop a personal safety plan Assist and link residents to life skill development, education/employment exploration and training Assist residents in meeting emergency needs such as clothing, household items and transportation, as well as ongoing needs, such as medications and medical appointments, housing and financial assistance Assist residents in accessing legal services to address the need for Protection Orders, separation/dissolution and child custody issues Establish and supervise residents in shared-household-maintenance responsibilities, including shopping for and preparing meals, supervising children in the shelter and upkeep of the facility Maintain client files and documents case management hours and referrals Monitor security system for interior and exterior of shelter Any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED Must pass a national criminal background check Must have a valid, clean driving record and NM driver's license Must complete CPR & First Aid class within 60 days of employment and Core Advocacy Training within 6 months, then 20 hours of annual training thereafter Must be able to stand, sit, lift approximately 50 pounds and walk up and down stairs Bilingual preferred
Compensation :
The pay is $17.00 per hour to start, with a 90-day probationary period, after which the pay increases to $18.00. This will be payable every two weeks through automatic deposit. This includes the differential pay for the graveyard position. Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Time accrues immediately upon hire Up to $2000 annual bonus based on achievement of enhanced performance goals 100% Company Paid Health Insurance after 30 days '
