The Director of Intake and Contract Relations leads the front-end operations of the agency, ensuring all referrals are processed with speed and accuracy while maintaining high-level relationships with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and other payers. You are responsible for both the operational efficiency of the intake team and the strategic management of payer contracts to optimize reimbursement and agency growth.

Key Responsibilities :
Intake Department Leadership:
Supervise a high-performing team of intake coordinators, overseeing the daily workflow from referral receipt to active case status.
Contract & Payer Management:
Lead negotiations and ongoing management of contracts with MLTCs , IPAs, and commercial insurers to secure favorable rates and terms.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all admissions and authorizations comply with NYS Department of Health (DOH) , Medicare, and Medicaid standards.
Strategic Referral Relations:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with hospital discharge planners, physicians, and community referral sources.
Metrics & Reporting:
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as referral conversion rates, turnaround times, and denial trends.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with clinical and billing teams to ensure smooth handoffs and accurate claim submissions based on contract provisions.
Requirements & Qualifications :
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing (RN), or a related field required; Master's (MHA/MBA) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years in home health leadership, with specific expertise in New York intake processes and contract negotiations.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert knowledge of EMR systems like HHAeXchange or AlayaCare and a deep understanding of NY Medicaid/MLTC authorization workflows.
Skills:
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills to navigate complex provider-payer conflicts.
